With the exception of love, friendship and the beauty of Art,
I don’t see much else that can nurture human life.
I’m still too young to know much about love and friendship.
But Art… if I had more time to live, Art would be my whole life.
Well, when I say Art, don’t get me wrong: I’m not just talking about great works of art by great masters. Even Vermeer can’t convince me to hold life dear.
He’s sublime, but he’s dead.
I’m referring to the beauty that is there in the world, things that,
being part of the movement of life, elevate us.

I am in complete awe of Tokujin Yoshioka’s mind and the way he talks about his pieces.
He creates interiors, installations and architecture where people can feel the light with all their senses. He explores beauty born out of coincidence and beyond human imagination; his work echoes the beauty of nature with its ever-changing expression,
giving the idea “that the design doesn’t even exist”.

Passion gives me moments of wholeness. I want to explode and fly in all directions.
I want to live like a submarine, sunk always at the deepest level of instinct and intuition.
I mostly know though, that I can never live entirely like that,
for my life is slowed up by thought and the need to understand what I am living.

This is for all the people I’ll never meet.
This is for the person I might have kissed had I taken a different subway line
on Saturday and the person I might have been
if that boy hadn’t broken my mother’s teenage heart.
This is for the people I would have loved if last winter hasn’t been so cold and for the city
I would have called home if I had written haikus on napkins
and carried pens in dress pockets and in the knots of my hair.
This is for who I was, who I am, who I might be.
This is for you.

OVERVIEW | Planetary Collective
Planetary Collective presents a short film documenting astronauts’ life-changing stories of seeing the Earth from the outside – a perspective-altering experience often described as the Overview Effect.
The Overview Effect, first described by author Frank White in 1987, is an experience that transforms astronauts’ perspective of the planet and mankind’s place upon it. Common features of the experience are a feeling of awe for the planet, a profound understanding of the interconnection of all life, and a renewed sense of responsibility for taking care of the environment.
“To transcend our sense of separation…”
“It really does look like this beautiful oasis out in the middle of nothingness.”

You must stop talking to yourself. Every one of us does that.
We talk about our world. In fact, we maintain our world with our internal talk.
Whenever we finish talking to ourselves, the world is always as it should be.
We renew it, we kindle it with life, we uphold it with our internal talk.
\Not only that, but we also choose our paths as we talk to ourselves.
Thus we repeat the same choices over and over until the day we die,
because we keep on repeating the same internal talk over and over until the day we die.

I am not here to tell you that defeat is part of life: we all know that.
Only the defeated know Love. Because it is in the realm of love
that we fight our first battles – and generally lose.
I am here to tell you that there are people who have never been defeated.
They are the ones who never fought.

CULTURAL SIGNIFICANCE OF SCARVES
"Scarves may often be used as a fashion accessory but some countries actually use them for a deeper meaning. Whether it has a cultural or religious implication, scarves are given more meaning than just a strip of cloth to accentuate an outfit.
If you study the evolution of scarves, you will see that scarves were used differently as they are today. In the ancient times, only a handful of people were allowed to wear them.
More than being a fashion accessory, scarves were used as an identification of a person’s rank in the military or in society.
Regardless of the use, scarves continue to be an amazing piece of fashion that people should learn to appreciate.
They are more than just pieces of cloth – they symbolize a piece of history that depicts a rich culture behind it – certainly more than just being functional or fashionable."
