The Past
"You may think the past has something to tell you. You may think that you should listen, should strain to make out its whispers, should bend over backward, stop down low to hear its voice breathed up from the ground, from the dead places. You may think there’s something in it for you, something to understand or make sense of.
But I know the truth: I know from the nights of coldness. I know the past will drag you backward and down, have you snatching at whispers of wind and the gibberish of trees rubbing together, trying to decipher some code, trying to piece together what was broken. Its hopeless. The past is nothing but a weight. It will build up inside of you like a stone.
Take it from me, if you hear the past speaking to you, feel it tugging at your back and running its fingers up your spine, the best thing to do —the only thing— is run."

The New Year is coming!
"Conditions are never perfect. ‘Someday’ is a disease that will take your dreams to the grave with you. If it’s important to you and you want to do it ‘eventually’, just do it and correct the course along the way."

White Winter
This Christmas, I would like to put up a tree in my heart, and instead of hanging presents, I would like to put the names of all my friends.
Close friends and not so close friends.
The old friends and the new friends.
Those that I see every day and the ones that I rarely see. The ones that I always remember and the ones that I sometimes forget.
The ones that are always there and the ones that seldom are.
Friends who, without meaning to, I have hurt, or, without meaning to have hurt me.
Those that I know well and those I only know by name.
A tree with very deep roots and very long and strong branches so that their names may never be plucked from my heart.
These are my sincere wishes....
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The message of Christmas is that the visible material world is bound to the invisible spiritual world.

feelings
The comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a person; having neither
to weigh thoughts nor measure words, but to pour them all out, just as they are, chaff
and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is
worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

and grain together, knowing that a faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is
worth keeping, and then, with a breath of kindness, blow the rest away.

passion
Passion, it lies in all of us, sleeping… waiting… and though unwanted… unbidden… it will stir… open its jaws and howl. It speaks to us… guides us… passion rules us all, and we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love… the clarity of hatred… and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear. If we could live without passion maybe we’d know some kind of peace… but we would be hollow… Empty rooms shuttered and dank. Without passion we’d be truly dead.

there's a reason
I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you apprieciate them when they’re right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

If you want to be happy, Be!
So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man’s living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

wrong
"I shiver, thinking how easy it is to be totally wrong about people, to see one tiny part of them and confuse it for the whole."

me
I've come to realize that the only people I need in my life are the ones who need me
in theirs even when I have nothing else to offer them but myself

Connexion
"When you start to really know someone, all his physical characteristics start to disappear. You begin to dwell in his energy, recognize the scent of his skin. You see only the essence of the person, not the shell. That’s why you can’t fall in love with beauty. You can lust after it, be infatuated by it, want to own it. You can love it with your eyes and body but not your heart. And that’s why, when you really connect with a person’s inner self, any physical imperfections disappear, become irrelevant."
