be free

Life is a process of becoming, a combination of states we have to go through. Where

people fail is that they wish to elect a state and remain in it. This is a kind of death.
(Anaïs Nin)

"Like the tiny, soft bodied creatures that build coral reefs, habits start off small and flexible, and end up by building massive barriers of rock all around your mind. Inside the reefs, the water feels quiet and friendly. Outside you think it’s going to be rough and stormy.
There may be sharks. But if you’re to develop in any direction from where you are today, you must go outside that reef of habits that marks the boundaries of your comfort zone.
There’s no other way. There’s even nothing specially wrong with those habits .
They probably worked for you in the past. But now it’s time to step over them and go into the wider world of your unused potential. Your fears don’t know what’s going to be out there, so they invent monsters and scary beasts to keep you inside.
Messing up a few times isn’t that big a deal. But if you get scared and try to avoid all mistakes by sticking with just a few “tried and true” behaviors, you’ll miss out on most opportunities as well..."

Saturday...

The goodness in your life does not come to you from someone else. When you see

this, you will be free. There is no reason and no need to "play up" to another,

or to try to remain in their good graces. Remain in your own, by not betraying

yourself. Simply speak your truth, with gentleness and love. And have courage, for

what you seek is not outside of you. It is not a gift from another person. It is yours --

to give, not to acquire. Let no one, therefore, hold you hostage. Not your partner, not

your boss, not your family...and certainly not your God.

Monday morning

The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on being perfect and

beginning the work of becoming yourself.

You want something. Go get it. Period.

‎"Hey. Don't ever let somebody tell you... You can't do something. Not even me. All right? ...

You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they

wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period."

I'm back again

I came back from Cannes last week, feeling revived and renewed . The French Coast is truly a bliss. What views, what places... Cap Ferrat, a hidden jewel with its Plage des Fosses, the medieval village Eze with its stunning views from Le Chateau De Chevre D'Or, Saint Tropez...

Hi everybody... how I wish I could freeze Time so that I could do all the things I have to get done and all the ones I wish I had more time for...all the things that I love doing that don't imply any "must", like blogging :)
Sorry for my absence lately, but I was so caught up in my art projects, my commissioned work and the kids :)

Dreaming of my upcoming vacation on the French Riviera, next week...

Women on Matasari street

This week-end I've participated in an urban festival dedicated to women in general , meant to change the reputation of this infamous area ,a place known in the past, post war as the "Red light "District- filled with easy women, pimps and drugs dealers, and to discuss the place women have in our society
It was an amazing experience, to take part into this free manifestation of everyday creativeness, where art was at the core of things

"I am surprised how difficult for people is to say "I love you". They only say the three magic words when they are sure they will hear "I love you too" back. C'mon! Spread the energy of love without expecting anything! Cowards are incapable of expressing love; it is the prerogative of the brave"

SkirtBike

Last Sunday I participated in one of the most crazy, fun , chic events held in my town ever! called SkirtBike

 Dedicated

entirely to women who choose bicycles as a daily urban transport, "SkirtBike was exactly as it

should have been: fun, colorful, friendly, but most of all encouraging. In a city where

bike riding in general is not always a bliss and where women would not have chosen

skirts as proper outfit, many of them will turn to this Eco-friendly vehicle more often

than before. "
