saint Andrew's day

Happy Name Day to all of you who is called Andrew!
My first wish goes to my son, Andrew, for whom we're celebrating this day.

Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Romania. He is the one who christianized our country almost 2000 years ago, and we celebrate that on the 30th of nov.

the Invitation

mafe mantilla illustration

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living.  I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.
It doesn't interest me how old you are.  I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.
It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring the moon.  I want to know if you have touched the center of your sorrow, have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shriveled and closed for fear of further pain.
I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it or fix it.
I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, or to remember the limitations of being human.
It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself, if you can bear accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul.
I want to know if you can be faithful and therefore be trustworthy.
I want to know if you can see beauty even when it is not pretty everyday, and if you can source your life from it's presence.
I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon...YES!
It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have.  I want to know if you can get up after a night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done for the children.
It doesn't interest me who you are or how you came to be here.  I want to know if you can stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.
It doesn't interest me what or where or with whom you have studied.  I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.
I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in empty moments.

7 things you don't know about me

M.Campbell-Zurek

Hi everyone!

I've been asked by the lovely Peggy from PauletPaula blog to write
7 things you don't know about me :

1. in two months I'll be moving permanently with my family to London.

2. I eat a lot of sweets, more than my kids! (of course I take extra care of how much sweets they eat )

3. I'm really afraid of birds (though I love to watch them from the distance)

4. I never smoke. In fact I've never tried a cigarette in my life.

5. Although I'm a lawyer by profession, I ditched it in favour of arts and since last year I've been painting

6. I love travelling

7. I sing all day long (even when I'm on the street, I hum )

so now it's my turn to choose 7 blogs to find out new things about their owners :). Here it is:

body art

Emma Hack is an award winning body artist at the forefront of an art form growing in worldwide popularity. Her work has been seen at the Tiffany & Co store launch in Dubai, and a Playstation 2 commercial in Hong Kong. But it’s her 2007 collection titled ‘Oriental Delights’ that launched her on the world stage.

These images featured Florence Broadhurst’s wallpaper murals mixed with quirky body art that created 3D human wallpaper that quite literally, brought the walls to life. “I love working with the beautiful and aesthetically pleasing designs of the late Florence Broadhurst,” Emma says. “They allow for a lovely energy with the nude form.”

A flat wall is vastly different to the rounded form of the human body, and Emma has been known to spend 19 hours creating some of her works of art, as each of the patterns are hand painted onto the models. Her current collection (part of the 2008 Adelaide Fringe Festival) features exotic Australian animals, nude landscapes and a continued collection of Florence Broadhurst’s wallpapers.

love yourself

It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you're not.

The most important relationship you will ever have is the one you have with yourself.
Self-love is not so much a feeling as it is a decrease of self-doubt and self-disapproval. It involves an ever-growing sense of balance and belonging.
Respect, responsibility for self, and feeling good are important values.

Who you are is more important than what you are.

• You are valuable. Nothing can change that.

• What you want always matters.

  Photo stories!
(my dear friend asked me to pass this on,and I thought it would be a great idea for all of us to try to participate in this contest)

Here is a very cool contest challenging your creativity and imagination.

Call for entries: Photo stories - £1000 + royalties.

Wide distribution digital platform is looking for talented

An episode should be 10 minutes reading time. We are looking for fun, captivating, inspiring material that would be suitable to create a series of 10 episodes (or more).

Please submit a 100-200 words treatment together with 3-5 photos to illustrate your vision to info@curiousquests.com with your name, a short bio (50 words max, it can include your website if you have one) and the subject line: 10.1 .
